Abstract

Every city has its own identity that allows people to accept it or adapt to it. For instance, London was master planned by many architects in the past, but do any interactions between architects and the general public actually occur? This argument does not imply that architects have free rein; the council gives them a brief, which is what they follow. However, design has evolved into a field that is both adaptable and a subject of learning.

Let’s apply the same context from design today to the artist’s perspective. Many people find an artist’s work to be a powerful tool for self-exploration and self-discovery, allowing the artist to express their inner world and identity. However, this doesn’t mean their work is a static representation of themselves. It’s a dynamic process of interpretation and re-interpretation. City spaces are today’s representation of cultural history, but do we really think they communicate well, or do they just stand on their own whilst we accept them as a question or a judgment? They might look like or speak for a question that an artist wants to ask the world.

About

Himanshu Mewada | Interior Designer

Himanshu Mewada began his career in design with a curiosity about how people connect with new ideas in the rapidly evolving fields of design and technology. He’s witnessed how emerging design disciplines sit at the forefront of innovation, advancing possibilities in execution and contributing to societal development.

His work explores a fundamental question: can design as a discipline truly enable people to harness their creative thinking potential in our rapidly changing world? Through his practice, he investigates how individual approaches to understanding design can reach and inspire the next generation of design professionals.
