You’re in the room — now what? Thriving as a Junior UXer by asking, learning, and being loud
Abstract
Let’s be honest: when you’re new to UX, no one hands you a manual on how to thrive. This talk isn’t about frameworks or polished decks — it’s about the real, often messy experience of learning how to show up, ask good questions, build relationships, and take up space when you’re just starting out. I’ll share lived experiences and lessons I’m still figuring out: how to ask for feedback that actually helps, why it’s smart to connect beyond your immediate team, how to share work openly (not just when it’s polished), and why curiosity is your superpower.
This talk is for anyone who’s landed their first UX role — or is on the hunt for one — and wants honest, practical insights on how to be confident, strategic, and vocal in their early career. Because your seat at the table is just the beginning of shaping the spaces where we all work and create.
